Tallis & Co
Fl 1838-1851
Tallis & Co were London map publishers who traded between 1838 and 1851 under various names: L/Tallis, Tallis & Co., John Tallis and Co ( London & New York).
After about 1850-51 their maps were published by The London Printing and Publishing Company.
They are best known for The Illustrated Atlas of the World which was published 1849-53 . This very high quality atlas had steel engraved maps with attractive vignette views and was issued in about 70 parts.
