This is a print of the lithographic facsimile of the original which was published by The Spalding Club in 1841​​​​​​.

A volume published in 1841 by The Spalding club, The History of Scots Affairs by James Gordon contains an extract from the Town Council Register of Aberdeen saying that this day ( 16 October 1661) James Gordon had delivered to the Council “ ane meekle cairt of paper” showing the burgh and parts adjacent , for which the Council gave him “a silver piece or cup of twenty ounces of silver, ane silk hat for his own use, and ane silk gown for his bedfellow”
